Welcome to Willamette’s 155th graduating class…

So began the letter Becca received yesterday from Willamette University. Her first acceptance letter! (It’s funny, in this digital age, acceptance letters are no longer the thick packets they once were, but the tradition remains to send the now, thin two-page letter in an oversized 9″x12″ envelope.)

“Whew, that really takes off a lot of pressure. At least now I know I’ve been accepted somewhere.” Becca observed after her initial surprise and enthusiam. Having only applied on January 1, Beeca had not expected to receive a response so quickly. The good news was compounded with a companion letter from the Office of Financial Aid offering her a significant Merit Award scholarship.

The wait continues on the other two schools to which she applied: University of Portland and Southern Oregon University. And we still need to visit Southern Oregon University in Ashland, hopefully in early March, so Becca can fully evaluate her options. So… no final decisions have been made, but we know she’ll be leaving for college somewhere west of the Cascades early next fall.

Congratulations Becca. There is no doubt the school you pick will be fortunate to have you attend. It just doesn’t seem possible that this time is coming. Love you, Gramma

  2. Mom Buck Says:

Good job, Becca! Can’t say we’re surprised with the acceptance letter though. After all, Willamette is smart enough to know a good thing when they see it (or get an application to it!) Good luck with making your decision! Oh, the exciting times ahead!
    Much love, Mary Ann
