Oh my gosh, she looks so much like you Amy, so pretty! As you well know, it's six of one, half dozen of the other. Sean did not voluntarily go more than five feet away from me until he was three years old. By that time I felt smothered. Little brother Corbin is much more independent and tends to choose a parent of the day, greeting any overtures with "I DON"T WANT YOU!". Reminders that such words and tone of voice are rude set off screams, likely similar to those you heard at the library.

Don't worry, Amy! It ebbs and flows, like everything else. Case in point, today I was a parent helper for Mary's field trip, and she stuck to me like glue. She was so delighted to have her mom accompany her on the adventure!

However, does it really surprise you that *you* have a child with an independent streak? Nah...

Two things...
1. Wow is Chiara growing! She looks like a different girl and I'm amazed how much of Amy and Tom I can see in her - no offense Tom, but Chiara's so cute... and well, I typically don't put "Tom" and "Cute" in the same sentence.
2. The next family get-together just can't come soon enough - I need to teach little Chiara how to lock doors! What can I say, I just want to be a great uncle!

Ok, 3 things....
3. I love you guys!

But the first time she is hurt or sad, you will be her direct line for sympathy and wanting a hug. You have not been shut out.
