Look what Papa Taught Me!

We were so fortunate that Grandma (or Gra, as Chiara has nick-named her) and Papa came to stay with Chiara while we headed to Washington, DC for spring break. We had a great time in the District (another post on that later) and Chiara had oodles of fun with her grandparents.

Our first morning home, she was quick to point out the “woodpecker” at the feeder in back, showing off a new word she learned from her Papa. Apparently, adding to her lexicon wasn’t the only thing Papa taught her. As Chiara was helping me make dinner tonight, she began putting her spoons down her shirt. Upon inquiry, she responded that Papa taught her to stuff spoons in her shirt. So, the question is, what else did Papa teach her??

Yes, grandparents are just a vast wealth of knowledge and creativity. Isn’t it wonderful this thing called – “sharing the wealth.” I am sure everyone had an outstanding week of shared knowledge, experience, and fun. You have to love it!

  2. Papa Says:

Well I am so glad my learning has paid off–what retention! Actually I never knew she had more than two spoons–both red–that we used that week and of course one special fork. From the picture I can tell I should have thrown in a course on concealed weapons for this lass. I can’t wait to hear about the next lesson Papa supposedly taught her.

Well, knowing Papa, I’m guessing the list may include:
    - names of favorite pastries at local bakeries
    - types of trees, bushes, and flowers in the area (Latin names, of course)
    - all of the various components of his fancy bicycle
    - and I’m sure, a few building block competitions ensued as well!

So glad everyone had fun together! We can’t wait to see you guys for Easter!! xoxo
